Hello guys
,
Years ago, my 2nd time at a casino, I remember having decided to go alone since I've been scammed the 1st time. I didn't even have a car then and took a bus. The only game I've seen a "friend" play before was blackjack. So, I sat at a table and started betting $10 at a time. People were telling me to double up, hit or split. But no matter what I did, I was losing most of the time.
I had bought in for $300, then another $300, then $200, leaving $100 in my pocket. After losing the $800, I decided to get up and go home. Unfortunately, 2 pits further, there was a table where people were cheering and making a lot of noise. As I approached, the dealer was shuffling the cards, so I told myself why not give it another try and sat again. I hesitated a lot before betting my last $10 and when I did, I was dealt 19 and the dealer made a 20. It was like a smack that made me wake up from some hypnotized state.
I stood there and realized how hungry I was, checked my pockets and only found 65cents. I walked, a long walk to the bus station and had to wait about 2 hours for the right bus, then naively, I stepped up and told the driver that I've lost all my money and need to get home, but he laughed and said that he had heard that a million times. Surprisingly, as I was about to go down the little steps, a lady, an Asian lady I remember, who was sitting in the front seat by the door, said "Hey, you don't look like a beggar, come here" and she handed me $20, "Take it, take it, someday you'll do the same for someone".
Have you ever experienced something like this? Or helped someone in a similar situation?
