Many modern slots now come with features like Double Chance and Bonus Buy.
  • Double Chance: You pay a little extra per spin (usually +25% on your bet), which increases the odds of triggering the free spins bonus. For example, in games like Big Bass Bonanza, this means more scatter symbols appear, but the RTP often stays the same or drops slightly.
  • Bonus Buy: Available in games like Sweet Bonanza or Gates of Olympus, where you can instantly purchase the bonus round for 100x your stake (sometimes more). This gives you direct access to the high-volatility feature without grinding through base spins.
The catch is that while these features can speed up gameplay and create excitement, the long-term RTP is balanced by the slot. So you’re not actually getting better odds overall—just changing how variance plays out.
I’ve tried the Bonus Buy a few times, and while it’s thrilling to jump straight into the free spins, it can also eat your balance quickly if luck isn’t on your side. Sometimes I feel safer grinding the base game instead.

Do you use Double Chance or Bonus Buy when you play slots, or do you prefer to wait for the bonus naturally?

As far as I'm concerned, all these modern features are just designed to empty your pockets as quickly as possible :)
If today is your day, it will be yours without any Double Chance or Bonus Buy :)

I definitely agree with you, just imagine buying the free spins and winning nothing. I think its designed to empty players bankroll.

I would only do the basic spins, especially if it costs 100X your bet? Talk about throwing good money after bad.:eek:

I think most slot features like this lead to similar RTP as the base play.

In that case there is obviously no point to buy free spins in slots where you could easily get 10 dead spins ...

Buying free spins? Thats sounds very strange because...isnt free supposed to be...free? Since when you have to pay for free stuff?

Thats the point, its just giving the casino your money that you could have used to play and potentially get those spins

I don't use either of those since I don't play Slots to begin with.
However, if I had to play, I would stick to the basic play because those options remind me of side bets in other games, options that always increase the house edge.

Various types of bonus purchases, free spins for money, and so on are features designed to make you lose money faster than usual. Although, sometimes you may be lucky enough to win... but not often, not more often than the casino can afford :)

Yes thats true, they may say the RTP remains the same but who knows whats happening behind the scenes

When playing slots, most players rely on intuition. Therefore, when considering this issue in this context, you should do what your heart tells you to do. Sometimes this may be the right choice, sometimes it may result in additional losses. But since players come to casinos to spend money, a few additional offers from the establishment do not really change anything.

It's just throwing more money away for the illusion of a possible payout. But that's just an illusion.

You can but the bonus round in many slots , not just one or two . I hate this feature . I like to play and win the bonus round by playing , when the time comes . By buying bonus rounds it's easier imo to spend your bankroll at a single session . It's very sad to watch some streamers promoting this behavior to slot players , to buy bonus rounds one after the other . Of course all these streamers are paid actors , they play with casino's money ,

I played it once and fared out okay <3 I think of slots like fishing, there is a trick in how you finesse and do your tries. I still do not know much though. BUT I technically give myself a limit to play within there <3 and then pry myself away....and it is hard!

Double Chance is usually a waste of money.
Bonus purchases aren't worth it in all slots.
