Pinochle is a rummy-type game using a standard deck of 52 cards, valued Ace - 9 = 1/2 pt. and 10 - King = 1 pt. Each player draws a hand of 7 cards and on his turn, may draw from the face-down draw pile or from the perfect knowledge discard pile, taking any card plus all others above it. When the player has a sequence of at least 3 cards of the same suit, he may meld it and score the appropriate value. The player may also add to existing melds, both his and the opponents. The value is used to move pawns on the board. The board is a large molded plastic piece with a raised area in each corner for starting areas and a raised area in the center for the goal area. Pawns may move in any direction and also jump other pawns. The winner of the game is the first person to get all his pawns into the center area.
Pinochle is a classic card game, different from other games with similar names (for example, Pinacle or Pinnacle).

How To Play Pinochle

It is usually played with 48 cards (two sets from 9 to Ace of each suit).
The game combines bidding, forming card combinations (melds), and taking tricks.
A special element is the "pinochle": the combination of Queen of Diamonds + Jack of Clubs, which gives extra points.

That's another very interesting game. I tried playing it a couple of times but was just trying to learn. Somehow, it's only played in cafes in a small region in northern Morocco where I stayed briefly, they call it Pinaccle.
It makes a perfect game to spend some good time with family and friends.
