Or would the player continue as normal, not considering the rake in adjusting preflop ranges? It seems like to me, the rake has a negative effect on expected value and implied odds, hence why there's the notion you play tighter than normal. This way, you overcome the rake and not be penalized for entering multiple pots where the rake has reduced the amount you figure to win. I would like some thoughts on my (definitely flawed) reasoning because I think the rake and its effect on cash games could be better explored than just "play tighter as the rake gets higher."
