Being suited helps but playing small suited cards, especialy not connected is a great way to give away your Bank Roll. Keep in mind K,J suited is ranked 21st.
 
Tight Aggressive is the way to play.......Almost Always raise Preflop 3x - 4x the Big Blind. If you don't you let the Blinds see a flop for Free. When Trash hit, you could be in Trouble all because you let the Blinds see it for Free.
 
If a average player sees you playing something like K,8 Suited....They will start raising preflop by 6X or even 8x the Big Blind.....They will play with their raises to see how big of a preflop bet you are willing to call.....They want you in the pot for the most amount of chips possible because they know the odds are they will have you Dominated.

One more thing.

You should be folding preflop more than anything else.

If not folding you should be betting and raising.

Calling should be done the least of the 3.

Than again, to play like that you need to play Quality Hands.

Small Pocket Pairs should be raised with to eliminate the Field. Pocket Pairs are Strong Hands heads up but ith Multiple players in the Pot they will get beat most the time.
