Hello,

Just wondering what is your win rate when calling a 3bet after you 2bet preflop?

I discovered that I'm struggling in these spots.

Currently I am grinding 5NL at 888poker.

Thanks!

Calling on a 3bet usually leaves you with a capped range (unless you slowplay KK+). Therefore, I would usually only do this readless in position anyway. If your opponent keeps playing agressive postflop, you will have a hard time on most flops. Also stack-to-pot ratio is usually not best for setmining in this situations. So try to avoid this spots unless you have a good reason for it like a read on your opponent.

i'm just studying this right now myself! this is my chosen study topic for the next week or so.
i ran some PT4 reports based on a video from SmartPokerStudy called 'when do you earn the most' posted about a month ago. it's helped me identify a few spots to work on.

my winrate when calling a 3bet is negative. OOP is about 3x as bad as IP!
so, for me i need to call less 3bets in general and OOP for sure. i don't want my FT3bet to be too high, so i really need to figure out how to improve this.

also, for me my 'saw flop as 2bet caller' is negative but my 3bet winrate is hugely positive. my overall 3bet stat is too tight so i need to work on this too. my 'saw flop as 2bet caller' IP is positive... so....?
takeaways,
- call way less 3bets OOP
- if OOP preflop a 3bet or fold is better than calling a 2bet
- position is very important!

not sure this helps. but, running PT4 reports i think is a good habit. my leak tracker says i need to 3bet more and my winrates certainly encourage it

good luck

3 -betting pre-flop is a powerful move in poker, although it has become more and more common in recent years.3-betting gives the aggressor a chance to take the pot right pre-flop,3-betting is an effective way to isolate weak opponents and avoid flop multi-pots, and 3-betting blows up the pot, which is obviously good for the aggressor when he has a strong hand.

Generally what brings a higher win rate is you calling the 3bet in position with hands that have good equity to develop post flop.
If you are more specific, we can discuss more on this topic, because it covers many things, and any answer given to you is very vague.
