i was playing in a small home tournament, it was early on, and i got dealt [9s] [10c] on the button. the table folded and i raised 3X the BB to steal the pot. george was in the small blind and called, as did al on the BB. the flop came

george moves all in and al calls right away. its on me, it would be about 80% of my stack.

what should i have done? il tell you what happened later, thanks in advance for the feed back

The only that has you beat pocket 4s, I make the call.
He might have the flush draw also.

You've got to call with 3 of a kind. I'm guessing you got beat, but that doesn't make call wrong choice.

Well. It depends. IF it's a "FUN" type game (eg, freeroll or just for pennies with your friends) I'd call in a heart beat. This is simply because people play loose and will move in with that flush or straight draw.

However, if this was a cash tourny online. I'd sit there in a little disbelief that everyone has a good hand and then fold. There is no point calling 2 all ins. ONE might be on a draw and bluffing, the other likely has (44) or (A9) and you could be drawing dead. Also if you are ahead right now the guy with the flush draw has a 36% chance of hitting it and taking the majority of the chips. I'd look for a better spot.

I think that because Al went allin then I would probally fold. I would hate to do it but Heshkak is right someone probally has a hand and then 10 is to low kicker to risk that many chips.

If he has pocket fours, you're in trouble. I would call and risk it. The odds are in your favor. Besides, if he did have the pocket fours, he would probably slow play it until the river. Call! Good Luck!:icon_salu

what happened

I had folded only because of how early it was, putting george on a flush draw, and al on a made hand, (either 4-4, or 9-face) george had the nut flush draw, and al had 9-7. so i folded the nuts, the turn and river both shot blanks.

unlucky mate. you werent to know what they had to go all in on. Same thing happend to me. I had 10 Q and flop was Q Q 7. i called and the git had Q 7.

I would pay, the chance of holding the last 9 is minimal. It's more like a 4 or made a set of 4, for a flush draw there may be, but rather a backdoor flush draw. Or maybe he has a pair and protects himself from a possible flush, I pay without even wondering.

Personally I would have called, There was a possibility that someone was holding a bigger pocket pair like AA, KK, QQ, etc and believes no one had hit the flop at all, So in fact they could still win by making a bigger Full house on the turn or River.
This type of situation is always dangerous, but lets be honest, Poker is a strange game I was in a similar situation where the B B raised pre-flop after a person on my right had limped in and I limped also with pocket 9s, The flop came 8,9,10 and the BB pushed all-in,
Now he had been very aggressive from the very first hand, and I felt he had maybe A/K or a big pocket pair, but when the person on my right called, I became a little worried as she had been very tight throughout the game. I took my time and pondered for a while but decided to see another card and called.
A 10 hit on the turn and she checked, Now I believed she was playing J/Q or something similar and had hit a straight on the flop so I just pushed the remainder of my chips all-in she called and I was spot on with my reads. The BB did have A/K suited but had missed the flop entirely, and she was holding a J/Q so my Full House took down this massive pot.
You have to play your hand whatever the flop, Turn or River dictates, sometimes you make the wrong decisions, Because she could have had pocket 10s which would have beaten me with Quads, But Hey! That's Poker!
