Preflop
Most of the time K9o is just a fold from SB, but against a min-raise from BTN I guess, we can throw in a call or a light 3-bet.

Flop
A dry K high board tend to favour the preflop raiser, and for that reason we typically want to check our entire range to him. You do lead though, and now he min-click you. This is kind of weird, and we cant fold top pair on the flop getting 5:1. We are also not in stack-off mode with top pair meh kicker, so there is really nothing to do here other than to stick in a call and see, what happens on the turn.

Turn
We dont want to lead again after getting raised on the flop, so checking is standard. If he had bombed the pot, you would have a bit of a decision to make, but he check back.

River
I typically dont like to go for thin value in a situation, where the opponent has played weirdly, and I have no clear idea, whats going on. So I lean towards checking with the intention of calling most river bets from him. You do bet though, and now he min-click you yet again. This is a really bizarre line by him, and it almost looks like, he is clicking buttons and raising you just for the sake of raising. So I am definitely not folding here getting 5:1 yet again.

Results
So he was in fact just clicking buttons on the flop, but unfortunately he then hit some runner-runner to end up with the best hand on the river. That sucks, but for me the more important street was the flop, where I much prefer to check-call rather than leading out.

Preflop we should be 3-betting hands like these 99% of times, unless you have very special readings on the BU and on the BB. Even so it’s dangerous, overall we are avoiding calls from the SB.
Postflop I think the hand was well played. We had a strong top pair with medium kicker and versus BU is hard to get rid of the situation. Luckily the pot wasn’t so big.

From BTN the V can apply the steal money strategy to blind positions. That is why its opening range is usually wider than other positions. When you have high denomination hands like Ax and Kx you can sometimes counter offensive by 3-betting to get fold equity of marginal hands that could be opened from BTN. But folding hands off suit is the most recommended option when you don't want to defend against the button strategy. And when you want to defend yourself simply by calling, it's better to do it with suited hands and with a view to a more elaborate postflop plan.
On the flop you donk bet, which could be interpreted as a bit of a predictable move in this texture, as there is a chance that you have a K in your range. When V min raise calling is standard for that price, although in this case since you have a 9, it lessens the chance that V is now bluffing and has opened with 79s.
The turn is good for you because now you can represent flush draws with Kd and also block a straight. Betting the turn allows you to get fold equity when you think your opponent is playing wider ranges. Although raise sizes aren't great for V, it's okay to check the turn for your range protection, when you don't have your opponent's range well defined.
With your river bet, you are mainly representing 2 pairs: KQs, since your opponent can only have one combo suit in his range.
Again your opponent's action doesn't make much sense, due to the minimum raise sizes he uses.
At this point and due to the price you get, your call is reasonable, but you should know that here your opponent has better cards like a J, Q or A, which could beat your hand, when they have the same value (K). Folding the river is also another acceptable option against an opponent who could have any combination that beats you, such as Q8s for instance.
Greetings.
