I have ATos on bb. BTN opens to 3xbb. SB calls, I call.

Flop's 2hTh8s.

SB instantly throws out a pot size bet. I call. BTN folds.

From my experience with this guy, he's not a bluffer but I am thinking it's not likely a set 22 or 88 because does he come out firing like this if he flopped a set on a fairly dry board like that (except for the flush draw)? But I also did not want to raise and possibly face a reraise.

Turn's Ad so I made two pairs. He instantly bets pot again like the ace didn't faze him.

I considered all in here, but decided to call in case I am wrong about him and a set. The only thing that makes sense would be T8. Basically if he has anything but a set I have the nuts here.

The river is 4s. He bets pot again!

After again thinking about an all in here, (he has another $5 something left) I decided to just call. Given his actions I think T8 is more likely but then I've been running into a bunch of coolers lately and I think I let it make me passive.

If it's you based on the three pot-sized barrels would you all in?

I think that with the blank river, I'm shoving there.

You will run into some sets, but some other worse hands will call as well.

If we think, the value part of his range is sets and T8, then there are 7 combos of sets and only 6 combos of T8, so we are actually not beating that range. Maybe we could also give him 6 combos of AT, which we chop with, but on the other hand does he really call T8o from SB? If he can only have T8s, then its only 1-2 combos depending on the suit of our own T. So all in all I think, raising here is to thin. But I am obviously also never going to fold, when he can have a worse hand for value, and all the draws missed.

This is the special case of the villain who always strong bet for value. If he bets a lot from the flop it is because he is afraid of the flush draw. On the turn the ace does not scare him and he continues to pot betting. And on the river he continues with his heavy bet line. Don't worry about playing exploitative against this V and folding with the top of your range. It will seldom fool you on the river and it is not is bad to put all the small-medium sets in its range, when you block the larger ones and the texture is super dry as in this case.
Greetings.
