I've been testing a tight preflop strategy in micro stakes MTTs (like $1-$5 buy-ins) with some success. I’m currently using a 15–20% hand range from early positions and widening up closer to the button.

What kind of preflop ranges are working for you in these lower-stakes games? Do you play looser or tighter in early stages?

Would love to hear your opinions and maybe even see some charts or hand examples!

Thanks and good luck at the tables!

I dont think, preflop strategy depend much on the stakes. Its more about stack sizes, situations (like the bubble) and individual opponent tendencies.

What works for me is to play tighter at the beginning and more aggressive at the end, respecting the ICM of course.

15-20% early position is pretty wide early in tournaments

Well, higher stakes postflop is usually indeed just +-GTO and player-dependent exploits, but micros specifically call for some heavy deviations, as there are a lot of players who play very poorly, often entire tables of those.
