When you reach the bubble of a tournament, do you play tighter to ensure a paid seat or do you continue aggressive to aim higher?

Totally depends on your stack size. If you are a big stack, its a good time to open up your game and take advantage of the fact, smaller stack are more risk averse. If you are a middling stack you do need to play tighter especially against big stacks. As a small stack you play relatively normal. In MTTs both small and medium stacks can sometimes benefit by slowing down the action to reduce the number of hands dealt, before the bubble burst.

That depends on your chip position. If you have a massive stack, you can use it to steal the blinds. If you have a tiny stack...pray!

For me it depends on the min cash and the size of my stack. I will be aggressive on the bubble if both are small. That being said, I have also bubbled so many times that I am probably playing it wrong.

I play more cautiously and try to take risks only when there is a reason to do so. This is the moment that can decide the outcome, and I play for the outcome, every day, day after day, step by step.

If I'm already on the bubble, I'll try to make money. I'll only enter the game if I get AA or KK and it's a big raise.

I am still aggressive, my goal in each tournament is not to enter the paid positions, my goal is to win that tournament.

For me it depends on the stack I have at that moment, but also on other factors such as: how passive or aggressive they are playing at my table, if there is any player who can affect my stack so much that it puts my game at risk. But I usually don't like to take unnecessary risks at that stage, I prefer to be safe and then risk.

Generally, i think in a long run agressive playstyle on bubble will give you more money, but its uncomfortuble to play like that, especially if you had bad expirience with that in the past

Just played a tournament yesterday... the bubble was no sweat at all! A guy with a wayyy bigger stack then me jammed AK into a set of 7s on the flop then the guy hit quads on the turn... He committed ICM suicide

I see so many traps near the bubble, and I've personally fallen into so many, that I prefer to try to conserve my stack, and if I'm very short, I wait as long as possible so that the unwary leave before me.

It really hurts to go out on the bubble. I'd rather be busted out first hand than one off the money.

EAnd the bubble is a delicate moment in the game, if you have a good amount of chips you can play a little more aggressively against the people with few chips.

There have been such topics many times, but I will repeat myself anyway: Each of us was a bubble.

I appreciate my time and effort. They should be rewarded. Bubble boy is the unluckiest man of the tournament.

On the bubble, I play more aggressively against medium and short stacks, but I avoid big confrontations with chip leaders.

It depends on your chip stack- With a big chip stack you want to be poning, there is no better time to accumulate chips. If you are the short stack its time for what Prahlad Friedman would call "practicing avoidance" while you wait for your spot to shove.

It really depends on my stack, if I have a very low stack and I see that I can't make it to the payout I try to double with all in, if I have a half-game stack I'm calm to ensure payment

Cuando llegas a la burbuja de un torneo, ¿juegas más ajustado para asegurarte un asiento pago o continúas agresivo para apuntar más alto?
All controlled until you get paid!

GGpoker returns buy in if you early bird (register before tournament start, not after). If you play BH tournament prize of lowest ITM is same as BI.
I go aggresive when im early bird with short stack, because most of player play thigh to return investment. There is good chance with stealing some BB to increase stack for later game

Lately I've been losing a lot of chips in tournament bubbles. What mistakes do you see most common at this stage and how do you avoid them? I would love to learn from your experiences.
