:frown: having just played a multi table tourny no limit, i accumulate over 30,000 chips and sitting comfy in twentieth place. 600 left in and land a pair of jacks, i go for it and am cleaned out. there were options that i could of taken i know, but what sort of hands should i be playing in the later stages of tournaments and or should i just kick my heels for half an hour and let the other players do battle?? (now i know i shouldnt play jacks)

How did you end up with all your chips in the middle? Preflop, post flop after 3 little cards, etc?

What did he have or what did you lose to?

We need alot more infor before we can help you see if you played it wrong.

i followed three calls and went with a third of my chip stack raise to try and loose any low stack callers on the way round (whether this is right or not?),second last caller is the 3rd place chip leader with double my stack. he calls me all in with king five off suit pre flop. im struggling to understand if i over committed or just got rough called by somebody with double my stack, etc. any guidance for future reference is appreciated.

The raise is OK with JJ. The fact that your opponent called with K5off and won...o well he sucks...he wont be third in chips for very long.

Your play is fine, don't be results oriented. You WANT people to call with K5 off.

Also, a whole hand history would be nice. What about postflop play??? Did the board come AK2 and you went all-in??? All of the details are necessary for this hand to get an effective analysis.

thanks for the reassurance...he raised all in pre flop, which i thought was a strong play by him, but having seen him play a dozen hands prior believed he was in bullying mode being in a commanding chip lead on our table, the flop landed six, ten, four, mixed suits unbelievably followed by king, five. i think he was bullying the table, and this was shown as being apparent to the table but was no good to me out of the game....maybe it was a an experience that i shoould just put down to bad luck rather than poor play?
