I started out with Hold'em Indicator years ago, I got it free for clearing like 200 raked hands on Sportsbook/Cake I think it was. After getting a handle on online play and a taste for stats, I quickly purchased HEM. I continued to use HI on SB when I still played there, because HEM didn't support them (Cake is very strict on HUDs and trackers, but for some reason never had a problem with HI/TI). I recently got an update notice that HI now has a HUD. Looks pretty cool, but still can't touch HEM. FWIW when I used it, it was painless. Not sure why you're having problems, but whenever FT updated the client and broke HI, there was always a very quick update to fix it, usually same day. The cost for HEM Pro is about the same as the retail $$$ cost for HI, and both can be had free for joining sites. Wish you would have done your homework on that first, you could have had a much better software package for free. That said, $85 is *nothing* for something like HEM that will improve your game immensely. It will pay for itself almost instantly if you put the effort into using it. In general though, it's always a bad idea to use these promotions to get free software if you can get rakeback on those sites, because then you can *never* get rakeback there. The only way I'd consider it is if you never intend to play there again once you've cleared the required rake (maybe a possibility for some of the minor league sites). For a site you'll continue to play on, you'd earn far more from RB in perpetuity, and be kicking yourself that you traded RB for a one-time $85 freebie.
