In Mystery Battle Royale it is 18 players and at the start of every game you always start on a table of 5 ..but 5 doesn't go into 18.. there is never a table with 4 starting on it as there should be .. 5 5 4 4 ...that means there must be someone at the table who really isn't there, probably UTG and just insta folds. I confronted GG about it and they gave me a bullshit load of jibber dogde back. So if they can program someone there who isn't really there.. what else can they do? What do they do? Why not be straight with me when confronted? May seem trivial but the next player you play agaist there might not be a human, just a programmed GG bot walking all over you. ...maybe.

Just look at the tournament lobby of a Mystery Battle Royal tournament, there you see the 18 players and how they leave the tournament.

Iirc MBR is basically a zoom tournament so there are constantly new tables created. This means that you can have tables of 5 with 18 players. When the game starts, you may have 3 tables of 5 and the remaining 3 players waiting, then as soon as the first two people fold, a new table of 5 is created. That means that two people don't start immediately but you probably don't even notice.

I think you could have basically any number of players and tables and make this work, it doesn't have to be a multiple.

That said, I think "GGPoker is dishonest" is profoundly true regardless of this particular thing. The entire site gives this heey look at all this cool and fun stuff vibe, like we're your buddies, we think this is cool and fun as well! Look at this bonus! And look at that bonus! And look at this jackpot! And look at those flashy graphics!

... when in reality I think it is the most cold profit maximizing approach in existence; they've built an apparatus that clinically tries to exploit human psychology in the most cynical ways possible to maximize engagement, without giving any regard to actual player experience. The actual mind who creates something like this is the opposite of the way they're presenting themselves. But yeah they won't cheat on something like MBR because there's no point, they'll only maximize their entire reward system to give you as little as they possible can without outright lying.

At last someone has the courage to address this grievance.
I have long suspected that something is rotten here.
Until now, I simply didn't dare to go public because I was afraid of being laughed at, but thanks to this brave man, I am now doing so.

I have my own theory. Aliens from Mars have hacked into the system and are watching earthlings playing poker and robbing them.
I also noticed the following; every time I play sit & go's and am the first to be eliminated, I sit at the table with two Martians.
Even if you go all in preflop with AA and lose, these guys are involved.

Everyone please be careful, because the invasion has already begun.

As I understand it, the first phase is a fast forward game, which mean, that players are moved to a new table, as soon as they fold their hand. For that reason the number of players on each table does not need to match the number of players in the tournament. Just like similar fast fold cash games you sometimes have to wait for other players to join the table, and this is, how the numbers add up.

Wholly inappropriate psycho-analyzing. I've made 1500 last week as transcribed here and haven't played on GGPoker in many months. I would have also voiced the same opinion while I was still playing. It's a soulless profit maximizing company that cynically exploits people's gambling addiction. (And not just exploit, it does everything it possibly can to fuel and maintain people's addiction, and then exploit it.) It also attracts a weak player base so it has upside for professional players like me (though not enough to offset the absurd rake, ultimately). Idk if you can believe that I can have an intellectual opinion that isn't based on personal tilt.
