I'm playing some freerolls on 888, and in my current game I'm into the last 32. I'm at the same table for multiple hands, but on every deal, I'm being prompted to click I'm Back as if I'm inactive - I'm not! For at least 5 hands I have been auto-folded, at least 3 of which I had the best hand on the flop. Am I missing something here? Why is this happening? Even after I hit 'I'm Back', I still get get folded automatically...

It's happening every hand now! I've missed opportunities to build a really nice stack. I just missed trip jacks. WTF?!

I get this issue sometimes, you need to close 888 and reopen it
Wow! What a joke! Thanks for the response. This fixed the issue - but I was afraid of doing this in case I got kicked out of the game completely. In the meantime I lost 22k in chips and multiple opportunities to stack up by a total 100s of thousands. This is really bad for playing tournaments. Never happened on any other rooms. And usually if I have 888 open but have been inactive, I'm prompted to click to say that I'm still here.

Whatever, it was a freeroll so technically I didn't lose anything, bit this is a total vote of no confidence in their application. What if I had bought in for decent money...or had the chance to win big? Not good enough from 888!

It does happen from time to time on other rooms as well. Maybe not exactly this way, but some random technical fault, which prevent you from playing one or more tables. I have experienced this on 888 Poker, pokerstars and ACR Poker, so basically all the rooms, where I have played in recent years. And the solution is always to close and then reopen the poker client. There is not a single room, where your active tables will not pop up again automatically, once you reopen the client. So there is no need to be scared to try this fix.

Well then you cant play anywhere, because it can also happen on all the other sites. It has just not happened to you specifically (yet). Its of course annoying, but once you know the fix, its not that big of a deal, since you typically only miss out of less than an orbit of hands, before you are back in the action. And this can also happen, if you lose your internet or have to take an emergency break to go to the toilet :)

Its not great, but it will have been caused by a connection issue of some sort and then 888 doesnt reconnect you to the table properly.

I often run into this problem too))) There are two ways to fix it.
First: close the table, go to the tournament’s main lobby, select the "Players" tab, click "Find me", and you’ll be seated back at your table. This doesn’t always work.
Second: completely log out of the poker room and log back in — this method works 100% of the time.

When I played on 888 Poker years ago, there were far more situations like this compared to PokerStars. So I dont think, they have the best software in the business, although it could obviously be better - or worse - now, since its been updated many times since then. I still did not consider it a dealbreaker though.

I reason, I stopped playing on 888 Poker, was their game selection, which became worse and worse, as volume dried up post COVID. For me there are just not enough MTTs on 888 Poker these days to fill a session, and they completely removed SnGs. But I might still go back and give it another try some day. Maybe then for cash games, since its somewhat easier to get enough action in those.

Yeah I suppose so. Now that I know it's a simple fix it's not that big a deal. I was just annoyed last night that it happened when I was so deep in the tournament and wasn't sure what to do so I missed out on any chance of winning.

I've had a few disconnections on 888, I've always had to log out every time it's happened.

I was gutted they got rid of SnGs as that's my favourite format

It happens to me sometimes, my solution is to click on your avatar > my tournaments > and click on the tournament you want to open.

Its certainly a known issue/bug that could do with a fix @888Rep ! Ive had it multiple occasions where it happens and the only fix is to close the table and to reopen it. I know that KomodoDragonJesus has had the same issue as i discussed it with him on stream. One can only hope it gets fixed one day.

I had this problem, it always happened when I ran out of time and was disabled, when I returned, I couldn't play, I discovered it by chance, leaving and returning, I already read in the comments that it solved the problem, good luck
