Agree it's bad for the game but with a million more up for grabs it's very tempting. That's a lot of money!
How strange. I read something different. Some professionals were the ones who brought this possible fraud to light, since the player who won the event took an extra million dollars from a contract with the WPT, if I'm not mistaken.
I agree. Who is to say they didn’t collude longer than people initially thought? There is no way anybody can play that bad. Over 90% of the chips heads up and didn’t win a hand except his open jam with Aces.
That's correct, and some other pros didn't see a problem with it.
Guess we'll never know. It's strange that someone with such a big head-to-head advantage would lose without winning a single pot. In a matter of seconds, the other player overcame a nearly 10 to 1 lead. If I had to bet, I think it was rigged.
And what a stupid idea it was by WPT to offer such a contract, if they wanted to avoid an obvious incentive for players to collude.
It was not a contract but a promo all of us can get the same promo by playing on Gold and getting a gold rush ticket then winning any of 11 now ten or less live MTT that qualify
I read about the ruling of this incident but nowhere was stated that these two players are now banned from participating in WSOP events.
Ok thanks for the info. It should still be obvious though, that this create a big incentive for the final two to make an unofficial deal, if one of them can win an extra million. So probably not the smartest promo, if you ask me
