It was not Ivey who had the skill to 'edge sort' but Cheung Yin Sun. They worked as a team because Ivey gained them entrance to play at high stakes. What they were able to do was compromise the Casino and take advantage. They did not use their own deck - they did not even touch the cards. I don't think the two scenarios bear comparison where Kenney etc. were ripping off other players.

That said, [B]I have never backed[/B] Ivey regarding the Baccarat scam, and have even argued on this forum he exacerbated the situation with lawsuits. The courts were never going to side with them when technically they were not winning by playing legitimate Baccarat.

The difference being  that Ivey did come to terms with both the American and English Casinos - he has literally paid a price (multi millions) for his stunts. Whereas the likes of Kenney appear to have faced no consequences. Both Schindler and Imsirovic got kicked off some sites without any indication of how much was confiscated from them both and if that even came close to covering the money they scammed through RTA and collusion from other players.

And that would be a final point with Ivey - their 'scam' was against the casinos. Ivey has not been shown to scam fellow players online in the manner these guys did.
