With all that kicked up last week regarding the Bryn Kenney debacle, I was looking forward to the EPT streams coming from Monte Carlo - my favorite stop on my favorite tour - the great side of poker.

Currently watching the final table of the 100k High Roller I realized the event has not even been mentioned here as yet. Tomorrow, Day 2 of the main event will be streamed.

I know it's not convenient for many in the US to watch live, but full streams are available on the pokerstars You Tube site.

Not really a surprise but Adrian Mateos steam rolled the final table to win the 100K High Roller - he is a beast.

Day 2 of the main event on air in a few hours.

There have been a ton of great responses to the EPT and so many seem to be enjoying the coverage.

Indeed.

I think it's partly because the EPT/PokerStars knows how to stage an event regardless, but the poker room at Sporting - Monte Carlo, 'Salle des Etoiles", is fabulous. The set they built to stage the tourney is stunning graphically - red white and blue and people have been floored by the design.

I know its a difficult time for North American audiences to follow live but people should dial up a stream just to get a sense of the room if even for a few minutes.

Here's a short clip from PokerNews where Will Shillibier walks into Salle des Etoiles at the start of the day with everyone looking for their seats and it gives a good idea of the atmospherics!

Holy Toledo!

Not sure where precisely to add this post onto but it is being claimed Ali Imsirovic and Jake Schindler showed up in Monte Carlo to register for the EPT event and both were refused registration.

Dietrich Fast the German pro seems to have been the first to hit Twitter with it and now it is doing the rounds but not reported on any poker news site as yet.

As Berkey pointed out, Schindler for sure was banned from PokerStars before (if not for life) but it seems maybe PokerStars and the EPT decided to carry it through to live events...which would be precisely what people have been calling for - wider consequences than being simply barred from online play.

Edit - What makes this even more interesting is it was said they had been allowed to enter the 100K high roller. I thought this unlikely (I only saw the final table) but then checked back to see the day 1 results and both Schindler and Imsirovic had been allowed to play, both busted and it it seems the ban came down on them shortly thereafter.

I really am interested to see if the EPT or PokerStars are going to issue a statement regarding the circumstances/decision.

Whoa! That's very, very interesting. I don't have time for the next couple of days due to travelling but hope to remember to look into all of this. Who doesn't like a little poker gossip anyway?! :)
