Without live streams, your image is based mostly on statistics and timing?

i can reply with a hand a i played at the "mini forty stack" (which no longer exists) on ggpoker. there were only 3 tables left, and i had been playing for more than 2 hours with the player 2 seats at my right. He had shown some hands, and as hands passed i noticed 1.- he re-raised virtually any ace when IP . 2.- liked to small-value bet big made hands. 3.-saw him bet big with overpair in the flop then check back when te board connected. 4.- he exercise pot control with low strenght hands. So this hand came, i had AKo on the BB and villain on the button 3 bet a middle raiser, i just called , our stacks were healthy(about 60BB) and i was looking forward to the final table. The middle raiser folded , the flop : 763 rainbow , i checked , he c-bet half pot , at this point a thought "is a standard move and is not consistent with his overpair or made hand behavior" i called . Turn : 5 , no flush draws. i check , he bets the pot , once again is unconsistent, and this actually looks like a desperate attempt to make me fold. after some thought i call . River : 8 . i check , he goes all-in . forgot to mention , he had me coverder by a few blinds , and the pot was already bigger than our stacks. the all-in was of about 20BB , but then i thought , what is he holding that actually makes sense ???, even if he 3 bet a connector , say 89 , he's bet secuence doesnt looks like a made hand, or an overpair , say AA or KK , what about a mid-ace ?? would he bet this way a A7 or A5 for example?? i had evidence of he exercising pot control with that kind of hands. i could be running into a well concealed hand of course , but i was confident that at most he could be on the same holding as i called. He showed AQs , and i doubled up!! , winning that hand made me chip leader and led me to win the tournament. That important is table image.

The image you convey when playing online is very important. The way you play will make your opponents see you that way.

Table image matters less online - stats and bet patterns define you, not vibes.

I know that the image I have of certain players who I face, definitely affects the way I play against them.
So I do think your reputation and the general playing style people perceive you to have does dictate how people will play back at you.

Very important to read people at the table, sometimes you just know they are weak and make that hero call.

Image in poker is a powerful tool that can be used to either gain an advantage or protect yourself from your opponents. It is important to be able to shape and use your image wisely, and to be prepared for your opponents to try to use your perception to their advantage.

On sites that allow HUDs, it becomes very important, especially if you play the same games all the time, as you will often come up against the same opponents over and over again.

Table image in Online Games Why It's Important
Table image refers to how others perceive your playing style. Even in online games, it's crucial because:
Influences opponents' decisions: Your models shape how others react to you.
Gives you a psychological advantage: A well-crafted image can confuse or control opponents.
Affects game dynamics: In team games or poker, image impacts how others interact with you.
Strategic tool: You can intentionally create and change your image to gain an advantage.

I think the worse you are the more the better players will find you. With sharkscope, huds, and color coding, players should be looking to play with bad players.

It was awesome in the olden days when they had fishfinders. You could actively search for the worst players online. There would be large waiting lists whenever the bigger fish sat a table.

I don't pay attention to the image, I pay attention to the actions of my opponents. Their actions are the basis for me to change my game and make certain decisions.

I think the main thing is not to play monotonously. You need to mix it up — use aggression, bluffing, and play tight when needed. That way, it’ll be much harder for others to read you at the table.

Table image may be built up in different ways depending on the type of play (live or online).
The question was about online.
In online games as in live games one part of your table image comes from the runouts/showdowns players see from you.
Another part of your table image comes from stats if HUD are allowed or are implemented by the poker site.
The stats give only a very rough overview if the sample size is very small,
but can give hints if a player is more thight or loose,
and the aggression is also relatively good shown (non poker room stats).

Depending on these factors, a table image of a player can be built.

Most players will rely on table images like maniac, nit, passive or aggressive player
and try to adapt their playing style according to that table image.

So I think it is important.

But what is also important is to mask your table image, so that the adaption is a bit more tricky.

I feel like s winner when I have my own original avatar no one has the same image and I bet when I win they will remember my name and fold more cards when I bet big. Could be all in my head and I'm delusional but I play sometimes real good or then I have luck of Gladstone Gadner...

even if you play without a tracker, it's not hard to tell what your opponent is up to based on their actions. Image is incredibly important, like the old days of telly in offline play. Understanding image correctly is the key to victory.

Table image is definitely important in online games, although it works a bit differently than live poker.
Since you can’t rely on physical tells, players pay more attention to betting patterns, timing, and your overall aggression/passivity.

If you’ve been playing tight for a while, for example, a sudden big raise might get more respect. On the other hand, if you’ve been bluffing a lot, good players might start calling you lighter.

Even without a live presence, your “image” at the table still affects how opponents react to you. That’s why it’s important to stay aware of your recent actions and how others might perceive them. 🎯

Don't let the fact that I wear sunglasses and a hoodie to cover my face and a scarf to cover my neck, fool you into believing I actually think about table image...LOL
