I was planning to go this year but my partner was very ill so it wasn't a possibility for me. Next year I will be going for sure! (I've only been once before & went on a very limited budget). You'd be looking at approx. $200/night for accommodation. You don't need to rent a car in Vegas. Lots of taxi & uber. There's also a monorail that runs the length of the strip & a bit further. Personally I'm going to rent right at the Horseshoe. Its just so much easier to be able to just walk down to the tournament rooms while staying in the same casino. ie breaks in the tournament, you can rip up to your room, prepare a snack, have a quick nap... or whatever And keep in mind, food is REALLY EXPENSIVE. You'll want to plan for this. Myself, I will purchase some good quality Whey protein powder when I get there, and a Veggie Green powder drink too. Getting a room with a useable mini-fridge and microwave is a huge bonus (not sure if the horseshoe has this but I kind of doubt it). I've looked into other spots, places that are a 10-15min. walk from the WSOP venue (that more likely turn out to be a 20-25min. walk, lol. In Vegas it is difficult to walk to places like you might expect to be able to when looking at the map but there's loads of fences making it near impossible. For tournaments There's lots of other series going on at the same time as the WSOP. You might want to look into playing some of them while you're there &/or some of the 'Daily Deepstacks' right at the Horseshoe. Maybe see you there. My plan is to go a couple weeks before the time you're planning for. I'll be playing the Senior's event(s).... 's' as they have them playing at the other series around Vegas at the same time as they're running the Senior's at the WSOP.
