From my own experience, I know that determination and consistency in pursuing a goal are crucial. Beginnings are usually difficult. You lose far more often than you win. You absolutely cannot be discouraged from playing poker at this stage.

Here are a few practical tips I’d offer to any beginner just starting out in poker:

1. Learn the basics, but don't rush.
Understand hand rankings, positions at the table, and basic odds. Many early mistakes come from not knowing the fundamentals well.

2. Start small — freerolls and micro-stakes.
There's no need to risk money right away. Use freeroll tournaments to practice, observe different player styles, and build confidence.

3. Play tight and in position.
Beginners often play too many hands. Be selective and give preference to playing hands when you're in a later position, where you get more information before acting.

4. bankroll management is crucial.
Only use money you can afford to lose, and never go all-in emotionally or financially. Treat your bankroll like a business budget.

5. Stay disciplined and patient.
Don't chase losses or let frustration take over. Poker is a long-term game — even the best players have downswings.

6. Keep learning.
Use platforms like CardsChat to study strategy, ask questions, and read what experienced players are saying. Watch videos, read books, and analyze your hands.

Poker is a journey — enjoy the process, and don’t expect instant results. Good luck at the tables!

Have fun and learn by doing! At most two tables at once!

Some have already said it, but I believe that playing and having fun in the beginning is the most important thing you should prioritize.

First of all you need to choose your style of play (for example, aggressive or tight), your favorite type of poker (tournament or cash) and your bankroll limits. Well, if you want some advice, the best one is to never give up!;)

Play in freerolls without spending your own money on the game. This is the best start. If you lack patience, discipline, skills, and experience, there is no point in investing your own money. Just play freerolls, especially our CardsChat freerolls.

Play freeroll only, learn with your moves and reading the opponents game. Don't risk high levels, start playing smaller games to achieve incredible future poker results.

Play freerolls as if you were playing for money and have more patience.

Rather than worrying about winning or losing, play as you have decided. Rethink your strategy after you finish. Realize the importance of this and keep doing it.

Take it slow — the first ten years of playing poker are the hardest, and after that, you just stop caring.

Don't just go off of your hand, what's most important is what's on the table and how other players are playing in relation to the cards on the table

Do not transfer money to either site, max. due to the starting bonus, but if you lose your money, do not transfer any more, but try to build a bankroll from freerolls.

I would recommend the following:
Play tight and aggressive – fewer hands, but play them strongly, this is extremely important.
Learn starting hand ranges – know what hands are worth playing.
Value your position – play more hands in late position.
Don’t chase every draw – understand pot odds first.
Manage tilt and bankroll – stay calm and play within your limits, this will allow you to keep control of your emotions and will have a positive effect on your mental state.
