Hey everyone, My name is Dima, I’m 25, and I’m from Ukraine. I’ve recently gotten more serious about poker and started looking for ways to improve, not just by studying videos and charts, but also by talking to other players. One thing I’ve realized is that poker is such a global game. People play it everywhere — from the U.S. to Europe, Asia, and beyond. And I thought: why not try to actually connect with players from other countries? For me, it’s not only about strategy (though I love that part too), but also about hearing different perspectives. How do players from different cultures approach the game? Do they play tighter, looser, more aggressive? What do they think about bankroll management, study habits, or mental game? These are all things that interest me a lot. I’m still at the micro-stakes level (yep, grinding those small buy-ins every day 💪), and I know I have a long road ahead. But I also know that talking with more experienced players — especially those who might think differently than I do — could give me valuable insights. Plus, I think poker conversations are just fun. Sharing hands, telling stories about tournaments, laughing about bad beats (or crying about them 😅)… it all makes the journey less lonely. To be honest, English is not my first language, but thanks to technology (and a lot of practice) I can communicate fairly well. So I’m also looking at this as a double benefit: improve at poker and improve my English by chatting with international players. I’d really like to hear from you guys: Where are you from? 🌎 What stakes are you currently playing? Do you prefer tournaments, cash games, or Sit & Gos? And most importantly — what’s one piece of advice you’d give someone grinding micro-stakes? I hope some of you would be open to starting conversations, maybe even private chats or small study groups. I feel like this forum could be a great bridge between players from different countries. Thanks for reading, and I’ll be happy to reply to anyone who wants to talk poker with a Ukrainian grinder who’s still learning but very motivated. 🙌
