Lately I’ve been playing some online poker and I keep hearing about these “HUDs.” So I started looking into it...

Basically, it shows you how often your opponents fold, raise, how many hands they’ve played… like, you get to analyze their style live while you're in the middle of a hand 😅
Honestly, it sounds super useful — but at the same time, doesn’t it kinda take away from the "pure" feel of the game?

What do you guys think?
Is a HUD really giving you an edge, or is it just another tool like any other?
And if you've used one before, how was the experience?

Curious to hear real opinions from real players ✌️

I’ve actually never used a HUD myself, and to be honest, I don’t fully understand how it works yet. I’ve heard a lot about them, and they definitely seem powerful — especially for players who multi-table or play a ton of hands.

But like you said, part of me wonders if it takes away from the intuition and “feel” of the game. Still, I get that in a competitive environment, having more information can make a huge difference. I might look into it more in the future, but for now, I’m just focusing on reading opponents the old-fashioned way.

I feel the same! HUDs can definitely be useful, but for now I prefer relying on my instincts and reading players the old-fashioned way 😊
I think tools like that are more suited for people who spend long hours at the tables and have bigger goals than just having fun.

HUDs in online poker are viewed by many as smart tools that help players make informed decisions based on real-time statistics like VPIP, PFR, and aggression frequency. For serious players, HUDs offer an edge in multitabling and analyzing tendencies, creating a data-driven approach to decision-making. However, some consider them borderline unfair, especially when used against recreational players who lack such tools. This creates a skill imbalance and can feel like “soft cheating.” Most regulated sites now limit or ban HUDs to ensure fairer play, keeping the game more balanced and approachable for all players.
