[QUOTE="Pokerpoet2, post: 7001016, member: 430261"] It doesn't take Super human abilities to read another person in a Poker game, Just a little common sense and Logic, Once in a Live game I was surprised to find a young guy that was very aggressive Pre flop and whenever he got an Ace he raised at every opportunity, Being on the BB in one Particular hand I was dealt 9,9, not a great hand but good enough to see a flop with, He raised from the High Jack position by 2 X the blinds and the SB called, so faced with 5X for the price of one BB I called. The flop came 8,9,10, which was a nice flop for me giving me 3 of a kind but there were other options out there, The SB checked, I checked, and the aggressive player went all-in??? Which baffled me slightly, What convinced me that at that moment I might be in trouble was the SB called, now as the SB was a tight player, I assumed she had already made her hand which could have been a Straight, But What had the aggressive player been pushing with? I called as well and hoped for the Board to Pair, So there we were with the Aggressive player in one pot, and the SB and myself both with Chips, The Turn card gave a 10, which could have given the SB Quads but she Checked again, To which I remarked "So the 10 doesn't help you? I don't have a 10 either but it helped me" I pushed all-in and She called, as she did I said I know I have him beat but now I know I have both of you Jack/ Queen, and Ace/King, The Dealer looked at me and asked me if I had seen the Cards, to which I replied "No, But it was obvious he was being over aggressive with A/K, and She wouldn't have called the all-in if she hadn't made a straight on the Flop," He Turned the cards over and I was spot on. I'm not a mind Reader or a Psychic that can see the future I just used common sense and Logic! Players especially over Aggressive Players always over value A/K, To me it is just another Ace Rag hand that is only good if it hits the Flop, She had a Jack/Queen that looks pretty but hitting the straight on the flop gives you the impression you have the "Nuts" Which of course is only true if the Board doesn't pair up. or for instance a Jack hits on the turn giving someone else a better straight. I had so many outs after the flop I just couldn't back down, any Runner Runner pair on the Turn and River, or any of the 3 cards that had flopped would give me a Full House or even Quads if the last nine had hit. Many could perhaps call me a "Fish" but even the Biggest fish sometimes catches the Angler out, I would prefer to call myself a Calculator, I knew the Aggressive player was over playing A/K or A/Q has he had done so many times in the game, The Woman on the SB was a cautious player, only going with hands she had already made on the flop, So my question is would you have played 9/9 any different?
