Oops, sorry, I just read I should put this elsewhere, but can't delete the thread. My bad..

For some time I have found so many people taking the Cash Out feature on an all in bet, even with good dominant hands.. So, you get a percentage back, based on the hand at that moment. If you aren't that confident, why are you betting? Just to wimp out in the end?

Is that a confidence booster for some people?

I've never used it, I'll stand behind my choice. How many here have, and why?

Call me curious.

I've never had any problems with withdrawals on pokerstars. My withdrawals are always minimal, leaving some dollars to keep playing.

I have never used it, and I will never do so. It would, in practice, make my equity less every time I used it since the poker site charges a fee for "the opportunity".

The reason for using the feature is to reduce variance, which makes sense, if you are aggressive with your bankroll management, or if you have a tendency to tilt, when you lose a big pot. Like maybe some maniac got it in with J4 offsuit, because "LOL its the Robbi hand", and if they beat your AK, you will lose your mind and tilt away another 1-2 buyins. Of course its more ideal to not use the feature, since its essentially a 1% extra rake.

He is talking about the cashout option in cash games and not withdrawals in general.

Try to actually read the threads u are answering in. It helps.

This feature is aimed at beginners as it prevents them from losing everything by returning part of the bet, which is not advisable. You get used to doing this and later it will take its toll on you as you will play with that mentality and end up losing.

I just don’t use this function and this goes for both poker and sportsbetting. But I acknowledge its merits for the faint hearted. I also make a note of such players as scared 😱 money.
