Do you like the surprise of holding a pocket pair and then turning to trips on the flop, or does it surprise you more when your opponent does the same?

Per example.. say Jack(S), Queen(D), 7(C) come on the flop. You hold pocket 7's. Oppenent Holds Jack(H), Queen(H) and another holds Queen(C), King(S).
That is just an example I know more could happen on the turn and the river. Lets just say nothing comes on the turn and the river for anybody. Say 2,3 of hearts. I love having these sort of hands cause some people can't understand why you are re-raising or calling the bets especially the person with 2 pair.

I know I have done it, bet the flop, the turn, and then wondered why is this person still calling me all the way to the river?

Just warning others that this may and can happen. Just take caution when someone is calling you and just stop and think for a little bit, you do have that option :)

getting a set is a very deceptive hand

usually get paid off well, win a small pot, or lose loads ;]

saying goes if you don't lose a lot when you have a set you weren't playing them aggressive enough

Usually when I get trips, I slow play it for two reasons. One, to get more money into the pot and two, to see what the other opponents may have. Plus, the turn and river may go in your opponents favor.
