Perhaps given his massive 3 bet, a call would have given more post flop wiggle room here. The flop gives me the nut flush draw but misses a lot of both our ranges, besides a few outliers. I'll range bet 3 bet pots with about 30-40% pretty often unless I'm trying to exploit someone, and that is what I do. I think I might have also been trying to control the price I was paying to draw to the nut flush. Looking at the hand now I don't like it so much. I think I'm potentially folding out a lot of hands I am beating, and the big pairs that make up a lot of his range are never folding on this flop. AK maybe folds, which I suppose would be a win. So, first question, anyone think a check/call line is better? What if we check and villain jams? In any case, he jams vs my flop bet. 9 outs to the Nut flush. 3 Aces and 3 Kings also to come, although he likely holds blockers to one or both, and neither are sure to win me the pot, so best to ignore them. At a quick calc 4x9 = 36% I hit the nut flush by the river and the pot odds are (very roughly) about 25% to call his shove? Just call and ride the variance train, right? This is definitely an area I need to get more comfortable with in my game.
