He limp called K2o so I’m putting him on a top40% range going to the flop. I go for a standard Cbet and since he was folding flops a lot to pressure I went for half pot. In retrospect in a wet board I should’ve gone bigger. Jack comes OTT and I decide to bet again since I’m expecting my opponent to call again very frequently. The J doesn’t change much in my opponent’s mind unless he turned trips. This time I go big for max value from A9, Q9, T9, TT, 88, 77, flush draws and straight draws. Ace comes OTR improving his range more than mine. I wouldn’t double barrel on that J turn with my A high holdings looking for folds, specially since this player was folding a lot and now has decided to stick around. In this particular situation, KK vs. 40% range is doing 51-49.’+I’m 40-60 behind If I assume his range includes only 55, 77-JJ, Ahigh flush draws High flush draws, Qhigh flush draws, A9-T9 and some broadways for missed straight draws. Opponent has shown willingness to see a showdown so I’m value betting small here to give him a chance to do that with worst 2 pair combos. I’m also taking control of the sizing of the River action (I’d fold to any raise). The Ace is a scary card for my KK so I also bet for protection although I’m not sure he is the type to cold call pre flop +2 streets and bluff his missed hands OTR. How would you have played?
