Once we x/r flop I think we kind of handcuff ourselves into jamming turn.  At that point after the tank flop call it may be the best play from OOP since there aren't really any good river cards and our read is that V is not strong but I don't think it's good to put ourselves in this spot to begin with.  We probably got him off a hand like 76 or 65 or a sticky flush draw but it could have just as easily been 2 pair, a set, or a straight that puts US on the draw or over pair and calls.  And if V is LAG as you say then all the straights, 2 pair, and sets are in play along with combo draws but V will also have air a good portion of the time when checked to.  So I wouldn't want to x/r him off his air and get called by all the high equity hands OOP with a relatively capped range compared to the board texture.  There's also the issue of half the deck or more being really tough to play on the turn OOP.
